Big government politics continue to worry me as it seems like it’s starting to be just “more of the same” from our reps in Washington. Rand Paul continues to be that shining light on the hill in Washington for all of my fellow Libertarians.
Kentucky Senator Rand Paul continues to stand strong and oppose increases in federal spending. He has stated to vote no on the upcoming Republican budget proposal, which increases spending by $10T, which is boiled down to $1M per minute.
His speech stating his stance on this budget lasted twenty minutes.
“Republicans won the White House. Republicans control the Senate. Republicans control the House. And what will the first order of business be for the new Republican majority? To pass a budget that never balances. To pass a budget that will add $9.7 trillion of new debt over ten years.”
Unlike most politicians that just complain about bills and refuse to bring their own solution to the table, Paul has also stated that he plans on proposing his own budget that will trim off $10T of debt and balance the budget in five years.
He also used this time to explain his urgency to fix entitlements, mostly in healthcare and social security, which he states will be bankrupt within a decade at this rate.
